Planet Zoo 2 Photo Mode: Settings, Filters, Cinematic Mode

Planet Zoo 2 photo mode: where to find it, zoom, roll, depth of field and filters such as night vision, how to save shots, and whether there is a cinematic mode.

Checked · Pre-release; from Frontier’s October 7, 2026 article · Planet Zoo 2 Wiki editors

How do you open Photo Mode?

  1. Open the Browser and go to the Camera options.
  2. Choose Photo Mode. The view becomes a camera with a long zoom lens.
  3. Adjust zoom and roll first, then depth of field, contrast, saturation, exposure and colour tint.
  4. Add a filter if you want one: night vision, black and white or a colour option.
  5. Hide the camera UI and press your platform’s screenshot button. The image goes to that platform’s screenshot folder.

What are Frontier’s tips for better shots?

  • Get into position with zoom and roll before touching other settings.
  • Use the rule of thirds.
  • Drop to the animal’s eye level, as if lying in the foliage.
  • Add a vignette to draw the eye to the subject.
  • Mind the background; it can make the shot.
  • Try night: some behaviour only shows after dark, and night vision helps.

Is there a cinematic mode?

Not announced. Frontier has revealed Photo Mode for still images, and Wildlife Reserves add a camera for photos while you explore on foot or in the Research Vehicle. Neither the FAQ nor the feature articles up to October 11, 2026 mention a cinematic or video recording mode. For moving footage, use your platform’s own recording. Reserve exploration is covered in Wildlife Reserves.

What is the WWF photography competition?

Frontier is partnering with WWF UK on a virtual wildlife photography competition after launch, using Photo Mode. Details had not been published by October 11, 2026.
