How is Zoo Reputation calculated?
Frontier streamlined it into a score out of 5 stars, built from four areas:
| Area | What counts |
|---|---|
| Animal Husbandry | Welfare of your animals and whether they are Thriving |
| Sustainability | Recycling bins and renewable power, among other infrastructure |
| Guest Education | Average guest education and use of education topics about your animals |
| Guest Experience | Guest happiness, zoo decoration and the variety of animals |
What is the Thriving state?
A step beyond meeting welfare needs. Animals in a truly natural, enriching environment can reach Thriving: they live longer and guests donate more. You first need research into the species to learn what it needs in the wild, which is your vets’ job.
What does every animal need?
- Food and water
- Enough space
- The right terrain and plants
- A suitable social group and enrichment
- Places to retreat from guest view
How do you make money in Planet Zoo 2?
Your costs are expansion, animal adoption, hiring, staff salaries and energy bills. Keep cash flow positive before expanding.
- Ticket prices, which you can adjust.
- Shops, restaurants and souvenirs.
- Guest donations, which rise when animals are Thriving.
- Marketing campaigns for individual animals, which cost money but bring in guests.
- Loans for quick cash, with interest.
Do you have to hide staff buildings?
No. Frontier says guests enjoy watching vets and keepers at work, reflecting modern zoos. Facilities still need power and habitats need water from a network of filters and pumps, and scenery around facilities keeps both guests and staff happier. Opening-day order is in the beginner guide.
